Right at Home, Inc., a leading international provider of in-home companion and personal care to senior citizens and disabled adults, is a Hope Partner of the National Parkinson Foundation’s (NPF) Moving Day, a walk for Parkinson’s dedicated to raise funds and awareness for those who live with Parkinson’s disease.
With a festival atmosphere, Moving Day is designed to emphasize the significance of movement for those living with Parkinson’s, a progressive neurological disorder often associated with tremors, slowness of movement or uncontrolled movement. The event will feature shorter, family friendly walk routes, food and music. In addition, each walk will feature a Movement Pavilion, which will include activities such as yoga, Tai Chi, dance and Pilates that are proven to help manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s.
“We are excited and honored to partner with the National Parkinson Foundation on this event,” said Allen Hager, Chairman and CEO of Right at Home, Inc. “Together, we hope to improve the quality of life for those who suffer from this debilitating disease.”
Right at Home is sponsoring the following Moving Day walks in partnership with NPF local chapters:

“Right at Home is helping us raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease,” said Joyce Oberdorf, President and CEO of the National Parkinson Foundation. “With their help, we are better able to reach people of all ages and abilities about how the role of movement and exercise plays in managing symptoms and in keeping people with Parkinson’s healthy.”
Approximately 1 million people in the U.S. are affected by Parkinson’s, and the number is expected to increase considerably in the next 20 years due to the aging of the country’s population. The National Parkinson Foundation is a leading organization focused on improving the quality of care for people with Parkinson’s through research, education and outreach. Right at Home is proud to support Moving Day and raise awareness for this important cause.
